Fendalton Open- air School in Christchurch New Zealand is playing with an iPad. We are trying to decide whether to invest in 20 of these devices or 10 new Macbooks to add to our existing computers. This blog is a place for anyone to contribute their ideas and comments on this issue. So please give us your thoughts, good and bad, on the iPad in a primary school.

Classroom server
A few children have been asking whether the iPad can be connected to our school server. I have done some research into this and I think that the answer is yes. We will need to do a bit of configuration work but it is certainly possible.

If the iPad can be connected to the internet then I think we should get iPads because we can get more of them. But if we can't connect them to the internet then we should get laptops because the internet is very important these days. JAKOB (Room 8)
ReplyDeleteHi Paul, we have been experimenting too. Ipads are fun and have their place. They have their own challenges when creating. We have also found that they keep falling off the system. I look forward to hearing more.
